SOUTH OZONE PARK, N.Y. (PIX11)-- It was an opening night to remember for the Fat Tuesdays New Orleans style daiquiri bar inside the Resorts World Casino.

Police say about two dozen people were throwing punches and chairs.

It happened just before 11 PM.

About 300 people were waiting in long lines for a new drink special when the fighting in the food court broke out, reportedly because some people tried to cut the lines.

If you look carefully at this video, you'll see people hurling chairs and swinging gold stanchion as if they were swords.

"I'm sure it's young kids. They don't know what they are doing," John Ugbomah, a casino patron told PIX 11. "Why do they they have to do that and ruin it for everyone else?"

Many going to the South Ozone Park casino near Acqueduct Race Track hadn't heard about last night's brawl.

A casino spokesman said "The safety of our patrons is Resorts World's top priority and there's absolutely no room for this kind of behavior at our facility. We are reviewing all aspects of this unfortunate event and are fully committed to taking steps to ensure similar acts do not take place ever again."

"I don't know how to stop the fights," Colleen Nelson, a casino patron said." But she and her friend Debbie don't come to the casino at night because of all the drinking and fights.

So far, three people have been arrested and four security guards and a police officer suffered minor injuries.
