NEW JERSEY (PIX11)-- 8,000 kids and their families are registered to make the mad dash this weekend for Easter eggs.

Organized by Liquid Church, a non-denominational Christian Church, they’re hosting 14 separate egg hunts at 4 locations in northern New Jersey today and tomorrow.

With 100,000 eggs up for grabs, kids today got creative on how to make the most out of the hunt.

“I tried to be really quick and pick up as much as possible in one handful,” said egg hunter, A.J. Supoi.

Inside the eggs are small toys, candy and the chance to win a big prize.

“We’re giving away 4 iPads. So, I’ve seen some adults do some pushing and shoving too,” said Liquid Church lead Pastor Tim Lucas.

Before the colored plastic eggs were all laid out on a field for one of the egg hunts on Saturday, they filled a trailer half way to capacity. All the eggs were pre-packaged by Sunny Bunny Easter Eggs, a non-profit which employees people with disabilities.

Registration for Sunday’s egg hunts is still open online. Altogether, it’s a 90 minute experience which also includes the egg hunt, a sermon and live music.
