Service resumes on LIRR line after train strikes person near Great Neck

LONG ISLAND (PIX11) — A person was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train Wednesday morning, temporarily suspending service in both directions on the Port Washington Branch, the transit agency said.

It happened near the Great Neck Station and involved a non-passenger train, LIRR said. The person’s condition was not immediately known.

Service has been fully restored in both directions on the Port Washington Branch, the agency said in an 8:44 a.m. update.
