More riders also mean more delays and longer wait times for trains.

Projects to bring new train technology to the lines are part of the solution. At this month's MTA Board Meetings, commissioners discussed plans.

After the meeting, in remarks to the media, MTA Chairman Tom Prendergast says budget discussions are still on-going, but he is confidant the MTA's upcoming capital plan will be funded (even if it is done in sections).

Prendergast also commented on this commute to the new location at 2 Broadway in lower Manhattan. The main MTA Headquarters will house the agencies instead of the Madison Avenue location. Prendergast, who has been a user of the system since 1982, said he noticed packed trains and longer wait times.
