MANHATTAN (PIX11) -- A three-story parking garage under demolition partially collapsed on the west side of Manhattan Wednesday afternoon. One person was seriously injured, but the injuries are not life-threatening, according to EMS.

The building, located at 642 W. 57th St, which is covered in scaffolding, collapsed around 2:30 p.m. Approximately 16 construction workers were inside the building when it collapsed, officials say. No one appears to be missing and officials do not believe anyone was on the sidewalk at the time of the collapse.

Several vehicles and school buses near the building were damaged. A bus driver was sleeping in a parked school bus right outside the building when the collapse happened, but he was not injured.

"I was laying in the bus, taking a nap. I heard a large noise" when the collapse happened, the driver said at the scene. No children were on the bus.

West 57th Street is closed between 11th and 12th Avenues.

Wow. Building just collapsed on 57th and the West Side highway. Crazy scene outside the Inside Edition offices.
