MANHATTAN (PIX11) -- Hundreds of customers in Chelsea are without power Friday morning during record-breaking cold temperatures, according to Con Edison’s online outage map.

The outage was reported about 7 a.m. and is affecting some 650 customers near 30th Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues, near Penn Station, an agency spokesman told PIX11 News at 9 a.m.

A spokesman for the utility said the transit hub was not affected by the outage, to his knowledge. Multiple crews are on the scene determining what went wrong, the spokesman said.
