9-year-old boy stabbed while walking to school on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A 9-year-old Staten Island boy was stabbed while walking to school Friday morning.

Police say the boy was near P.S. 44 in Mariner's Harbor around 8:15 a.m., when the suspect approached him from behind and stabbed him three times.

Jermaine Culver was stabbed on his way to school.

The boy was able to run home to his 15-year-old brother.

He was taken to Richmond University Medical  Center where he is listed in stable condition with non life-threatening wounds.

No arrests have been made. Police are investigating the incident.
