JERSEY CITY (PIX11)-- Firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze while also fighting the bitter cold in Jersey City early Thursday.
The blaze began in the bathroom of 55 Washburn St., fire officials said. The call came in about 12:30 a.m.
Flames spread to the building next door and caused the roof of the home where the fire started to collapse.
"It's very difficult to work when your feet, your hands are freezing," Chief Darren Rivers said. "Even when you get wet, your gear is frozen, it's difficult to move around."
Red Cross assisted those at the scene.
There were no reported injuries.
