NEW YORK (PIX11)– Mario Cuomo, a leading liberal voice who served three terms as governor of New York, has died. He was 82.
Many political leaders, from President Obama to Mayor Bill de Blasio, and other New Yorkers remembered Cuomo and sent out their condolences to his family.
Obama says Cuomo was “a determined champion of progressive values.” He says Cuomo was also a voice for dignity and inclusiveness.
Republicans also took a moment to honor the liberal lion.
Other public figures and Twitter users expressed grief over the loss of the former New York governor.
