Thief threatens man with gun, steals his cellphone in the Bronx: police

BRONX (PIX11) – Police are searching for a violent cellphone thief in the Bronx.

The man followed his 44-year-old victim Nov. 23 along Jennings Street between Bristow Street and Stebbings Avenue in the Bronx. The victim was talking on his cellphone, when the thief grabbed the victim from behind, police said.

The thief continued to place a semiautomatic handgun to the victim and demanded the cellphone. The 44-year-old complied and the suspect fled. Nobody was injured during the attack.

The suspect is described as a black male who is tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a gray three-quarter-length coat, black pants, black ski cap, black sneakers and a black backpack.
