Police search for suspect who stole from donation boxes at LI church

GLEN HEAD, N.Y. (PIX11) — Police are searching for a suspect they say stole money and various items from a Long Island church.

According to police, the suspect entered the front door of St. Hyacinth’s Church at 319 Cedar Swamp Road in Glen Head around 1 a.m., on Sunday.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from donation and deposit boxes.

He also took clothing and home goods.

Police say the suspect also stole from the donation boxes at the church on Dec. 1.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.

All callers will remain anonymous.
