School bus hit elderly woman in Queens, fled scene: cops

FOREST HILLS, Queens (PIX11) -- Police are searching for a school bus that allegedly struck a woman in Queens, then fled the scene Friday.

Cops say an 85-year-old woman was struck by a school bus making a right turn just before 1 p.m. at 108th Street and 70th Avenue in Forest Hills.

The bus fled the scene. Police say it is unclear if the bus driver knew he or she hit the woman.

The victim was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital with leg injuries and is expected to survive.
