LONDON (PIX11)--The finale for Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy – Battle of the Five Armies opens in theaters today after an impressive overseas open.

Internationally, the third act opened ahead of the two previous films, with $122.2 million dollars as of Sunday.

PIX11’s Dan Mannarino sat down with the cast in London, England to talk about this franchise coming to an end and what is next for them all.

Personal Note:

I am not a film critic, but, I will say this was a fantastic movie.

In all honesty, when PIX11 asked if I wanted to go, I had not seen any of the Hobbit films.

So, began my own journey to Middle Earth. I started from the beginning and was hooked immediately. After seeing all three Hobbit films, I am now watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy and am looking forward to reading the books.

The third act is action packed, and if this is your jam, go see it!

What impressed me more than anything, was the deep connection the actors have to the film and to each other. Sir Ian Mckellan and Orlando Bloom have spent 17 years making all six movies, so it’s clear that they have an affection for the franchise. I’m sad to see it come to an end, but this is a trilogy that will go down in history as a classic.

On Friday, Dan talks to the actors about the series being over.

Dan I’m so glad that you enjoyed the films. I tell people to watch the film before they say that it’s boring. You said the right thing by letting everyone know that to satart with the Hobbit thrilogy & finish with the Lords trilogy. Thanks
