Police arrest 19-year-old stabbing suspect on Long Island

FREEPORT, Long Island (PIX11) — Police in Nassau County have arrested the suspect who stabbed a man inside a garage on Long Island.

The 25-year-old victim was in a garage with two other men on South Bergen Place in Freeport on Friday at 8:20 p.m. when the suspect stabbed him in the chest after an argument. Looking for help, the victim went to the 7-11 on 145 Sunrise Highway and then to an apartment on 30 Wallace St., where police found him. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers arrested Joshua Scoca, 19, at his residence at 48 S Long Beach Ave. and charged him with second-degree assault and second-degree possession of a dangerous weapon. He will be arraigned today at First District Court in Hempstead.
