VENICE, Fla. (PIX11) — A high school student has been arrested for allegedly prostituting several of her underage peers for $50-100 in cash and alcohol.
On Friday, police arrested a 17-year-old girl and charged her with felony human trafficking of a person younger than 18, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. Police wouldn’t officially name the suspect who is a minor.
John Michael Mosher, 21, was also arrested on Friday for allegedly paying $40 and a bottle of liquor to have sex with a 15-year-old girl.
Police say the act took place in a community pool shed in August, and the 15-year-old was unwilling and struggled to escape but was restrained by Mosher.
She allegedly recruited other students from Venice and Riverview High Schools for her prostitution ring.
Four students alerted Venice High School administrators that other students had came up with a plan to prostitute other teens for money and alcohol.
Police say she charged $50-70 in cash for oral sex and $100 for sex with a virgin, and also took liquor as payment. Reports say the transactions were carried out on Facebook messenger.
A search warrant for the 17-year-old’s Facebook account revealed conversations with potential clients and detailed out transactions would be made.
“Why pimp out old hoes when I have fresh young hoes I can give up for money?” The 17-year-old wrote in one Facebook exchange. “As long as I’m getting paid I’m trafficking all these [expletive].”
Mosher has been charged with felony sexual battery on a victim older than 12 and is being held with bond.
Students told police that the 17-year-old carried out at least 3 deals.
Police Capt. Tom Mattmuller said a third arrest is expected Tuesday.
