NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- It’s the first Sunday in November and that means one thing. It’s marathon day in New York City!
Thousands of runners from across the world competed in the 26.2 mile course across all five boroughs.
Cold and wind greeted the runners but they powered through. “It’s windy but I think everyone is pushing them so it’s ok,” spectator Anna Bernard said.
Millions cheered them on with signs and screams.
“We look forward to this day all year long,” Upper East Side resident Annie Mears said.
Supporters lined the streets rooting for friends, family and strangers.
“All the support that we and everyone else can give, it means so much,” former marathoner Henry Bruce said at mile 26.
