Woman, 27, sexually assaulted near Columbia University: NYPD

MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS (PIX11) -- Police are seeking the public's help in finding a man they believe sexually assaulted a woman in Manhattan Wednesday evening.

The man identified as 27-year-old Allen Taylor allegedly followed a 27-year-old woman into her residential building on 113th Street between Amsterdam and Broadway near Columbia University.

The woman, who is affiliated with the Ivy League school, says he fondled her and knocked her to the ground in the vestibule area of the building. The suspect then tried to remove her bra before fleeing the scene.

Taylor is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and  weighing approximately 270 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red and orange shirt and dark jacket.

The attack happened just hours after the university held a national day of action against sexual assault on college campuses. The woman was not injured and refused medical attention at the scene.
