Cops: Man stole woman’s phone, pushed her down subway stairs in the Bronx

THE BRONX (PIX11) -- Police are looking for a man who they say stole a woman's cellphone as she got off the subway in the Bronx, then threw her down a flight of stairs Monday.

The 25-year-old victim exited a southbound No. 6 train at the Saint Lawrence Avenue station at about 9:30 a.m. when the suspect snatched her white iPhone 5, according to police. During the struggle, the man threw the woman down the stairs leading to the street.

Cops say the man stole the woman's phone then threw her down the stairs.

She was treated by EMS at the scene for bruising and lacerations to her right hand.

The suspect is describe as approximately 5'0" tall and 140 pounds.
