Police seeking suspect who slashed victim using machete in the Bronx

SOUNDVIEW, The Bronx -- The NYPD is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who slashed a victim using a machete early Saturday.

Police say the victim and suspect became involved in a verbal dispute inside of the restaurant El Carbonocito at 1524 Elder Ave. in Soundview around 1:15 a.m.

When the dispute escalated, the suspect pulled a machete out of an umbrella and slashed the victim in the arm, torso and shoulder.

The suspect was last seen wearing a Yankee hat.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital and is listed in stable condition.

    it would make sense to take the discover logo and the previews away when we pause the video so we can get a better look at the suspects face.
