NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Questions and concerns continue to grow over Rachel Noerdlinger, the Chief of Staff for New York City’s First Lady Chirlane McCray.
Friday the New York Post reported Noerdlinger failed to mention a $28,000 IRS lien on a public disclosure document. The same day news website DNA Info reported Noerdlinger and her boyfriend were pulled over in 2011 by police in New Jersey with marijuana and a minor in the car.
Noerdlinger’s live-in boyfriend, Hassaun McFarlan, pleaded guilty to manslaughter when he was a teenager and served time in prison.
”It’s a great embarassment for the Mayor, these new revelations keep coming and coming and at a certain point the Mayor is going to have to take action,” said Morgan Pehme, Editor in Chief of City and State Magazine.
City Hall is standing by Noerdlinger. Mayoral spokesman Phil Walzak released a statement to PIX 11 saying, “Rachel Noerdlinger is a valued member of our team. Her experience fighting for social justice and civil rights has helped us follow through on Mayor d
