NEW YORK (PIX11) — An FDNY captain is in Los Angeles Thursday to face charges he molested two young boys while visiting Southern California during the summer, police said.

Wilbert Riera, 51, was arrested at 7 a.m. in New York on a felony warrant and flown to Los Angeles, said Officer Nuria Vanegas, with the Los Angeles Police Department.

He was booked at the Metro Detention Facility and his bail was set at $2.6 million, Vanegas said.

Riera, a 21-year veteran of the FDNY, has been charged with six felony counts of lewd acts on a child under 14, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.

He was arrested in late September at his fire house in Rossville, Staten Island.

If convicted, Riera faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
