BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A pair of violent thieves held a gun to a baby and threatened the kidnap the child if they didn't get what they wanted, police said.

The terrifying ordeal happened about 1:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at a home on East 49th Street in Brooklyn, police said Wednesday.

Two men entered the home, picked up a 1-year-old boy and pointed a gun at him. They threatened the adults in the room that they would take the baby if they did not do as they were told, police said.

The adults complied, handing over sneakers and electronics to the intruders. When they grabbed what they wanted, the men threw the baby to the ground and ran from the home.

Both culprits are described as black males in their early 20s who were wearing bandanas over their faces. One is about 6 feet 1 inch tall and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and tan pants during the attack. The other is about 5 feet 5 inches and was wearing dark clothing.
