NEW YORK (PIX11) — The American Meteor Society reports that four large fireballs were spotted in different areas of the United States on Tuesday.

“It is rare that multiple significant fireball events occur and are reported to the AMS in the same evening,” a statement on the AMS website said. “After analysis of the time, proximity of witnesses and pointing data gathered, it was determined that each event was unique.”

The AMS received over 100 tips about sightings for the evening fireballs.

Anyone who saw a fireball is encouraged to fill out an official fireball report.
