NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A former Port Authority cop turned heavy metal singer won't go to prison for a disability scam.

Christopher Inserra was sentenced  to three years probation. He pleaded guilty to fraud back in April.

Inserra was touring with his metal band "Cousin Sleaze" while collecting disability checks.

He said he injured his arm in 2010 while on duty with the World Trade Center. He collected his $90,000 a year salary for 20 months.

But he blew it when he was caught touring with his band and thrashing on stage.
