NEW YORK (PIX11) — A woman located the couple in a wedding photo found in the rubble of Ground Zero in the weeks following the September 11 attacks.

“Every year on #911 I post this photo hoping 2 return 2 owner. Found at #groundzero #WTC in 2001. Pls RT,” Elizabeth Stringer Keefe, a professor in Cambridge, Massachusetts, tweeted.

Stringer Keefe’s friend originally found the photo in October 2001 after visiting Ground Zero. Her friend later moved to California, and gave it to her.

“She gave it to me with the request that I do something meaningful with it,” Stringer Keefe told ABC News. “There’s so much beauty and happiness in the photo, and whatever relationship it had to 9/11, I wanted to care for it until I could return it to its owner. I hope this happens and there’s a happy ending.”

After the photo was shared thousands of times on Twitter and Reddit, Stringer Keefe tweeted that she has located the couple, and everyone in the photo is alive and well.

“Attention wonderful world: ALL SIX PEOPLE ARE ALIVE AND WELL AND I HAVE JUST SPOKEN TO ONE OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!” she posted.
