CENTRAL PARK, Manhattan (PIX11) -- The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is asking for the public's assistance in identifying five suspects wanted in connection with an assault in Central Park earlier this week.
A 36-year-old woman said she was jogging around 60th Street and West Drive on Monday around 12:08 a.m. when she was struck by a pellet in the back of her head while exiting the park.
The victim said she saw three black men and two black women laughing and making anti-white statements toward her. The suspects then fled into the park.
EMS took the victim to Roosevelt Hospital, where she was treated and released for a minor laceration and pain from the pellet.
All five suspects are described as being between 15 and 20 years old and last seen wearing dark clothing.
