PATERSON, New Jersey (PIX11) — Several people were injured, one critically, after a car crashed into a house in Paterson, New Jersey early Sunday.

A Mercedes slammed into the house, which is located dangerously close to a gas station, after it crashed into a Chrysler at the intersection of Totowa and Wayne Avenues around 3 a.m.

The driver of the Mercedes was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, while two people inside the home were evacuated safely and have since been relocated by the Red Cross.

An investigation is undergoing to determine if racing was a factor and if a third car may have been involved.
