DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (PIX11) —  A Florida father took justice into his own hands after he allegedly walked into a room and saw a man sexually abusing his young son, police said.

The boy’s father called police to their home just after 1:00 a.m. According to a police report, the 11-year-old’s father walked in on Raymond Frolander, 18, sexually abusing the boy.

The victim told police he had been playing video games with some friends, including Frolander. The friends eventually left, leaving the boy and Frolander alone.

The father then beat Frolander bloody and subdued him until police arrived.

“Send an ambulance. He’s going to need one,” the father told the 911 dispatcher.

After his arrest, Frolander allegedly told police he had been having a sexual relationship with the boy since he was eight-years-old. “I’m guilty,” he told investigators.

Frolander was a close friend of the family, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Police did not identify the victim or his father.

“Dad was acting like a dad,” said Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood. “I don’t see anything we should charge the dad with.”

Frolander was treated at a hospital for his injuries.

He has been charged with felony sexually battery on a victim under the age of 12.
