PIX11 WEATHER CENTER -- Several slow moving storms have been affecting parts of region prompting the weather service to issue Flash Flood Warnings through this evening. The Flash Flood Watch continues through Tuesday Night. In the end, as 2 to 4 inches of rainfall is possible. Keep in mind, that rainfall rates of over 1 inch per hour on top of what fallen already could easily make flooded roadways.
The threat continues tomorrow as a cold front makes its way to the Northeast. The Storm Prediction Center has updated their forecast and now put slight risk of severe weather across parts of the region including the city. Earlier this afternoon, they had just put Central New Jersey and south under that risk. Again that forecast could very much change by Tuesday morning. Regardless of where the severe weather will be located, the combination from tonight’s downpours will only allow the risk for flash flooding to persist through tomorrow.
