BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Disturbing surveillance footage released Monday shows the moment when a still-at-large shooter opened fire in a Brooklyn neighborhood, striking a 25-year-old while he sat outside an apartment building.

Gunfire erupted about 1:10 a.m. Sunday in front of 184 MacDonough Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, police said.

A 25-year-old man was sitting on the steps of that building, speaking with the shooter when the gunman reached into his waistband, grabbed a weapon and opened fire. The victim was struck multiple times and taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Described as a man with a stocky build, the at-large shooter was wearing a t-shirt with the number 12 emblazoned on the back.

Anyone with information in the case is urged to call NYPD’s anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
