A Flash Flooding Warning is in effect for all of New York City, plus counties in nearby New Jersey and north of New York City. Here is the official alert:

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN
ACROSS THE WARNED AREA AND ANOTHER HALF AN INCH TO AN INCH OF RAIN
IS POSSIBLE. FLASH FLOODING IS LIKELY IN LOW LYING AND FLOOD PRONE
AREAS.
