Generous NYers can donate blood in exchange for Mets tickets

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — Baseball fans can score a home run for generosity next week at a blood drive hosted by the New York Mets.

The annual event at Citi Field has collected nearly 5,000 pints of blood since the stadium opened in 2009.

This year’s drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 23, at Citi Field in the Caesars Club (map).

Donors must:

  • Be at least 17 years old, or 16 years old with parents’ permission
  • Weight at least 110 pounds
  • Be in good health
  • Bring an ID with a photo or signature

Everyone who donates blood will receive a voucher for a pair of tickets to a 2014 Mets game.
