QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – An attacker, possibly a teenager, is wanted in connection with the violent attempted rape of a 61-year-old woman in Queens.

The assailant, whose image was caught on surveillance camera, punched the victim, pushed her to the ground and tried to rape her, police said Tuesday.

Fighting back, the victim knocked her attacker away and he ran from the scene.

It happened about 10:45 p.m. June 11 as the woman was walking near 71st Street and 41st Avenue.

Police are searching for a Hispanic male, possibly 17 years old, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 165 pounds.

The attacker has brown eyes, short black hair and a light complexion.

He was last seen wearing a blue soccer jersey with a red stripe, dark jeans and sneakers.
