HOLBROOK (PIX11) — A couple were cleaning the basement of a recently-vacated unit when they received a heart-stopping surprise left by the previous tenants.

Peter Wang and his wife, both of Pond Path Holbrook, peeked under the cushion of a couch — only to come face-to-face with a three-foot-long Ball Python.

It turns out the python belonged to the previous tenant, who left it in the care of upstairs tenants when it escaped.

Ball Pythons are completely legal to own, and no charges were filed.
