Dad pulls disabled son to top of national park to experience ‘natural beauty and strength’

MOAB, Utah (PIX11) – The U.S. Department of the Interior is celebrating fathers and the special bond they have with their children by posting an inspiring photo to their Instagram account.

James Geier wanted his son to experience the “incredibly symbol of natural beauty and strength” at Arches National Park in Utah.

Geier, a retired law enforcement officer hiked three miles with his disabled son Jonah, nearly 500 feet over slick rock trails and up red rock steps to share with Jonah a worldwide symbol of strength and endurance.

James’ daughter Laura, who submitted the photo, said “neither Geier nor Arch is deterred by challenges.”
