XINXIANG CITY,  China (PIX11) — Two people were killed and three injured after trying to retrieve a woman’s cell phone in a sewage pit.

The woman went to use an open-pit toilet and accidentally dropped her brand new phone, the South China Morning Post reports.

Her husband jumped into the cesspool to try and find the phone but fell unconscious due to the smell.

The husband’s mother jumped in to save him but she fainted.

Several people jumped into the pit to try and save them, including the woman who dropped the phone, but they all passed out.

“The smell was too strong. I lost consciousness before I could see anything,” a neighbor told the South China Morning Post.

Neighbors were able to tie a rope to rescuers who took turns pulling six people out of the pit.

The husband and mother-in-law died in the hospital.

Im sure how to respond to this bizarre story. I do know that the phone would be history because I wouldn’t be jumping into that +>%*hole.
