Man caught in NY after alleged 3-state crime spree

Luis Figueroa was apprehended following a 3-state crime spree that authorities say included two collisions with police cars on both sides of the GWB.

NEW YORK (AP) – A Bronx man has been arrested near the George Washington Bridge after an alleged crime spree that began in Pennsylvania.

Police for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey say they arrested 32-year-old Luis Figueroa of the Bronx at about noon Friday.

Spokesman Joe Pentangelo says Figueroa was driving a white Escalade SUV when he struck a Port Authority vehicle near the eastbound bridge toll plaza.

Figueroa continued across the bridge eastbound, then apparently tried to head back west over the bridge and struck another Port Authority vehicle. He was arrested as he tried to flee on foot.

The Express Times of Easton reports Figueroa allegedly attempted to abduct someone in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, earlier Friday then allegedly assaulted a park service employee in Warren County, New Jersey.
