Watch: Determined 9-year-old girl lands impressive skateboarding trick
(PIX11) — If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.
That’s what a determined young girl in Australia did to land an impressive skateboarding trick that has the Internet buzzing.
Sabre Norris, 9, of New South Wales, Australia, recently landed her first 540 — an aerial trick in which a skater and her board spin one and a half rotations in midair.
In a 50-second video posted by The Berrics, an indoor skatepark and website that posts skating-related news and videos, Norris is seen trying, and trying, and trying to land the 540, her favorite trick.
“I watched Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins do it on the internet, and I just had to do it,” Norris wrote in the video’s caption.
Norris doesn’t let the challenge get her down. After several wipeouts, she finally lands a clean 540.
“Yeah! I can’t believe it,” she screeches as she rolls down the vertical.
Norris ultimately made the trick look easy, but she said it was anything but. The successful landing happened on her 75th attempt of the day.
She recorded her attempts by putting a rock on a table for every drop-in she didn’t nail.
Turns out, 75 is a charm.
The 9-year-old has been skating for three years. She said she first stepped on a skateboard after her parents said she couldn’t get a bike because they didn’t have a garage to store it in.
“I still can’t ride a bike, but I can do a 540,” she wrote.
