NEW YORK (PIX11) — New York has unveiled the Willy Wonka pop-up shop in the Meatpacking District.

The pop-up shop will only be around until May 17.

The point of the pop-up shop is to introduce Wonka fans to the new frozen treat, Peel-A-Pops, or peelable ice cream pops.

The treat features vanilla ice cream on a stick, encased by a yellow (banana-flavored), or purple (grape-flavored) peel-able gelatin mold. When unpeeled, the treat looks exactly like a banana, but with a sweet and edible peel. And it doesn’t taste like snozzberries!

Celebrating the launch of WONKA Peel-a-Pop frozen treats for the 50th anniversary of  “Willy Wonka,” we have two oompa loompas in our studio sharing some of the pops with us.

WHEN: The pop-up will be open to the public until Saturday from 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM EST

WHERE: 22 Little West 12th Street between 9th Avenue and Washington Street in Manhattan’s Meatpacking district.
