FLORIDA (PIX11) — Even a judge couldn’t hold back his laughter when he saw that a suspect arrested on drug charges had the last name “Cocaine.”
“What?” asked County Judge John “Jay” Hurley when Edward Cocaine was brought before him.
The Fort Lauderdale man told the judge his great-grandparents came to the United States from Greece in the 1920s and changed their last name to Cocaine.
“You know, I’d thought I’d seen it all,” Hurley said laughter.
Despite the last name, Cocaine was arrested for possession of Xanax.
Hurley released Cocaine on his own recognizance, the Sun Sentinel reports.
