NEW YORK (PIX11) — The NYPD is searching for a suspect wanted in a string of eight bank robberies.
The first robbery occurred at the Chase Bank at 101 Barclay Street. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money from the teller.
According to police, the suspect robbed six other banks throughout February and March.
On Saturday the suspect attempted to rob the Popular Community Bank at 134 Delancey Street.
When the suspect handed the bank teller a note demanding money, the teller refused and he fled the scene.
The suspect is described as being 5-foot-9 and weighing 160 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white Air Jordan logo, sunglasses and a grey and black ski cap with “New York” embroidered on it.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
