NEW YORK (PIX11) – Holding a Hogwarts-style wand, pop star Katy Perry delivered the weather for an Australian morning show Wednesday, and of course Mr. G had some things to say about it. He also had a brisk forecast for the tri-state area heading into the weekend.
After dealing with the cold temperatures for this week, a storm will form off the Carolinas will head northeast on Friday. Fortunately, it is expected for the rain to be just out of reach by the time it is closest to us.
One more cold day is expected for tomorrow as Canadian high pressure brings down arctic air. Highs will only reach the upper 20s. On Friday, the aforementioned storm is expected to be near our area. Most of the area is expected to dry but we will have overcast skies as the storm is not too far away in the Atlantic.
By Saturday, winds turn southerly with partly sunny skies. Temperatures could reach the upper 40s, perhaps 50. Unfortunately the mild temperatures do not last as a clipper system arrives early Sunday morning. Nothing major expected but we may get a few flurries or sprinkles from this storm. Temperatures are expected to be around 40 degrees in the afternoon.
