PIX11 WEATHER CENTER — The tri-state area will see a meltdown Thursday as unseasonably warm air will move into the region the next few days.
Skies will be mostly sunny this morning then clouds will roll in this afternoon as a warm front approaches from the Mid-West. High temperatures will be in the upper 40s this afternoon in NYC with some low 50s in central and southern NJ. Rain showers will move in overnight with patchy fog and unseasonably mild temperatures.
We will enjoy another unseasonably mild day on Friday with temperatures in the low to mid 50s in NYC. A cold front will bring another chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm toward the afternoon. Some may contain moderate rain as they move through the area. This will be the leading edge of colder air which will bring our area back to seasonable levels. Temperatures will be in the 50s on Saturday and then fall into the 40s on Sunday.
The cold air will settle back in place by the middle of next week and we will also be watching another storm that could bring more snow.
