LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (CNN) — A 15-year-old girl in Little Rock, Arkansas, is dead, police say, because of a prank that went horribly and tragically wrong.

Adrian Broadway was shot in the head and died early Saturday morning.

She was with a group of teenagers who had gone to a house to do a “retaliation” prank on another teen who’d done a prank on them on Halloween, according to the Little Rock Police Department.

The teenagers told police they had thrown toilet paper, eggs and mayonnaise on a car parked there.

As they were leaving, a man came out of the house and opened fire.

Broadway was struck in the head and died.

Another teenager, the driver, suffered injuries to his right arm. He was transported to a hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police have identified the shooting suspect as 48-year-old Willie Noble. He was charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of a terroristic act and five counts of aggravated assault, they said.

Bond was set at $1 million.

“I got the news from my mom who said that Adrian had got a gun wound to the head, and I just dropped the phone immediately and started crying,” Broadway’s friend, Laguyia Bland, told CNN affiliate KARK.

“They was trying to be teenagers,” Bland said. “As you know teenagers make mistakes, and this was one of those mistakes.”

Its very sad to read this, but I can't stand people defending anything bad a teenager does on their age. I never once did anything like this as a teen. Its the same dang excuse Bieber uses for all the crimes he commits.

There are people in life who are jerks, and there are the people who have morals and wouldn't egg someones car, which by the way can damage it a lot.

He should not have shot them though, but the kids definitely brought this on themselves.

Sooooo…throwing toilet paper and eggs means they brought death upon themselves? Do you read what you type? Slightly annoying vandalism. Its toilet paper. Its egg…grab a hose. I truthfully cant even begin to believe what I just read…

This is not a story so much about teens making bad choices as it is about the insane proliferation of firearms in society. The gun apologists are completely out of control and need to be reigned in.

You would have been OK had she been knifed or struck with a baseball bat, or maybe run over by a car?

This is an issue because the teens were getting out of hand and society is fed up with the poor behavior. Unfortunately, some people are reacting in a violent manner to these thugs and they are dying.

      • guest_is_an_idiot

she wasn't killed by an attack with a car or a baseball bat or a knife. she was shot.

I don't knowwhat you are babbling on about.

      • Jerkel

You're the even bigger idiot if you can't comprehend why that person made the comment. I suppose we should expect this sort of failure from your type…clearly the public school system has failed you miserably.

  • Drc

Pathetic. Some gun owners are like bad parents in that they take no responsibility. It makes no sense to come out shooting for something like this. Yes I would be pissed too and I can see wanting to beat the heck out of someone not come out with guns blazing. It says less about guns and more about the mentality of to days so called humans.

  • Alex

There’s no excuse for a prank, it was damaging for the owner of the property. Don’t go and do stupid things and you won’t get shot. I’m glad one them died, this will straighten out other teenagers that was with her.

    • Lucky

wow!! you have to be like the most inhumane person on this earth.. so you mean to tell me vandalizing a car is equal to the loss of another's human life. you sir a disgrace to the living. God help you.

    • gapeterson1958

you Alex are an absolute douche…nobody needed to be shot for a "prank" I am quite sure the law will see to it that there are no children pulling pranks on Willie Noble… the guy way over reacted and as such he will rot in jail for a good long while, which is exactly where he belongs… enough of this old west B.S!!!. this sad excuse for a human murdered somebodies child over toilet paper and eggs which although potentially damaging the eggs could have been washed off, the hole in this girls head could not be repaired….

    • Jerkel

This teen did not deserve to be murdered…..the shit scared out of her yes….but murdered? No not at all!

  • David

Really? How you gonna sue somebody when you don't know who they are?!? Sure, the man overreacted by shooting to kill. But, those charges are ridiculous!! First-degree murder? He didn't plan it beforehand..he was defending his property. A terrorist act? That is one dumb prosecutor!! 5 counts of aggravated assault? Even when 3 of the teens didn't get injured at all??? Where are the charges for the miscreants that started it all?!? Whatever happened to the right to protect your property from vandals?!? Most of this is BS to appease PC, emotional voters.

    • Haley

How do you even know that he owned the property he lived on? It does not say anywhere in the article that the guy even owned the car the teens were messing with. It just says "a car parked there." Regardless, police should have been alerted/called, not a child killed.

  • TJ Spyke

She was vandalizing his car, so I don't feel bad for her. And her parents upset? Maybe they should have raised their daughter not to be a criminal. Should he have shot the little criminal? Maybe not, but he did NOT commit 1st Degree Murder (which requires that it be premeditated, which this obviously was NOT). And that friend obviously is lacking in education ("They was trying"?). Doesn't matter your age, it's never OK to go and vandalize private property.

    • guest

It was premeditated. He saw them committing this act and then said to himself, "I'm going to shoot these kids." if that' not premeditated I don't know what it is. It's not exactly a crime of passion, because there was nothing to trigger such a reaction being done.

      • TJ Spyke

No, it's not premeditated. He was not planning to shoot the punk criminal, he decided in the moment. Her parents should be upset at their dead daughter for being a criminal

  • Guest

How is this a prank? always changing words around to excuse behavior. He should not have shot at them. But so tired of the excuses for bad behavior. Tragic story again.

  • why?

Why a terrorist charge? This is insane….murder I can see….but a terrorist charge? Bad judgement on his part also, so he deserves the murder charge. His life was not in danger.

  • Norm

“They was trying to be teenagers,” Bland said. “As you know teenagers make mistakes, and this was one of those mistakes.”

"They was … ?" Right there that shows how much school has sunk into their brains.

Yes,teenagers make mistakes, but this was no mistake. This was a deliberate act of vandalism, being trivialised by calling it a prank. NOT a mistake.

  • fed up with bad parents

first lets not blame the man for defending his property….second id that dumb teen’s parebts would have been strict with her and raised her right none of it would have happened….i blame it on the parents for raising such a group of kids that think it is alright to vandalize someone’s property…..if i was that man i would have shot them alk dead just for trespassing….not to mention vandalizing my property…….and for all you who blame the man shouldnt be aloud to reproduce and need to get educated in law and in civil obedience….maybe putting the fear n these kids is exactly what we need

    • Haley

If you kill them, you aren't going to put any fear in them since they will be dead. There's no excuse to kill someone over eggs and mayo, which can so easily just be rinsed off with a hose. You kill someone, and you will get thrown in to prison. Is prison for the rest of your life really worth "protecting your property?" What's the point then? You won't have the property much longer after you just murdered three children LOL. That's kind of a failure. Protect your property by lethal force so when you go to prison you won't have any property anymore. WOW so genius! You're a real Einstein. No, you're an idiot. You should never own a gun, and I certainly hope you DON'T currently or at any time in the near future.

  • A. M.

I'm appalled that anyone is giving the shooter any justification whatsoever. He was never in any personal danger. Thankfully, it's not legal to kill someone for egging a car. That's murder. The right to protect property (from minor damage in this case) doesn't justify lethal force. None of the callous people here who seem to think egg on a car is worth a life ever engaged in any teenage stupidity? Oh, and if the idiot who shot the girl had come out with a knife, it is not likely that anyone would be dead. Amazing the horror and inhumanity gun lovers will defend to deflect the blame from their guns, which they seem to value more than human life.

  • Frank

Blame guns? Blame society? How about we blame the chickens involved! If it hadn’t been for the eggs used to commit those acts of vandalism, none of this would have happened! Mayonnaise wouldn’t even exist without eggs! And as for toilet paper, if the government had mandated that every home have a bidet installed, toilet paper wouldn’t have been a factor! Such a fowl tragedy. Way to start out a crappy week!

  • deran

For the people blabbering about how it’s the parents fault fit not raising their kids better: the “prank” was in retaliation to a prank the homeowners son started.
Guns have their place when used responsibly. RESPONSIBLY is the key word. This want one of those times and he deserves a stiff punishment for it because the slaps on the wrist being handed out lately are causing an increase in stupid gun owner behavior.

Id proudly shoot an intruder in my house in the dead of night, if I understand the situation and know I’m not just firing blind into the darkness. And if I accidently shot my kid trying to sneak out thats on me. Its my responsibility as the gun owner to check my target beforehand. Regardless of what the other person should have done differently.

Gun owners, stop blaming others for poor judgement on OUR part. We have the gun, we hold the power in the situation. Use it wisely.

  • J5

This is a very sad tragedy, but these stupid ass kids knew what they doing. She died from her own ignorant actions. She was stupid to let peer pressure get to her. I also blame the parents for not being responsible to know what their kids are doing. The man did what had to do to protect his. He shouldn’t be charged for this crime.

  • melanie

Well they wanna act like savages. I myself didn't act like that as a kid. These dumb ass kids now a days don't know how to act.Thats how ignorant ghetto kids that have no manners because their parents haven't taught them.

  • Kristina O.

Kids are stupid. I'm sorry she died, but the man was protecting his property! They were trespassing and doing something they shouldn't have. This could've all been prevented if they didn't do the prank in the first place! THIS is why on Halloween, TP, eggs, shaving cream, etc selling is banned to kids under age 18 in NYC!
