MTA files complaint with NYPD over ‘Walking Dead’ zombie prank

Zombie prank creator could face charges after failing to notify city

The MTA says they have filed a formal complaint with the NYPD over the prank.

NEW YORK (PIX11) – The MTA has filed a formal complaint with the NYPD over a zombie prank promoting the hit AMC show, “The Walking Dead,” a spokesperson for the authority told PIX11.

The stunt, which featured actors dressed as zombies and hiding underneath sidewalk grates in Union Square, was a promotion for the show’s new season.

City officials say permission was never granted. Permits are required for shoots that use public space.

The production company, that is responsible for several other similar stunts, has not commented.

The incompetence of the MTA and NYPD in letting this happen shows they are the real zombies. They are interested in it now because the press got on the story. Last Fall, I was brutally attacked by a hooded Muslim woman while I was taking a lawful cell phone video on a busy NYC subway platform. NYPD didn't respond. When an MTA worker showed up, she let the perpetrator go and wanted to take me to the police. She didn't even offer me medical aid although I told her that I had been injured. I put the video on YouTube and wrote a letter of complaint to John Galto of the MTA. His response ignored my video and relied on the self-serving statements of unidentified MTA workers. He didn't care because it wasn't a press event. There are no actors in my video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kvLMJb2oac

This is beyond ridiculous, real crimes that need investigation are being untouched while a harmless and funny prank is causing a commotion. The NY MTA should be ashamed of themselves.
