NEW YORK (PIX11) — The city’s new speed cameras are busting plenty of drivers.
Gothamist reports that six speed cameras already ticketed 900 drivers in the first two weeks.
Those cameras have been mounted around schools.
Speeding drivers are getting hit with $50 fines for going 10 miles per hour over the speed limit.
The city is allowed to install up to twenty speed cameras without state legislation.
So far, legislation has been blocked by republican lawmakers and police unions.
