PIX WEATHER CENTER — Winter decided to take a break during Superbowl weekend.

Temperatures will continue above normal through Sunday evening.

There may be a shower or two around during the day or just prior to kickoff but no major storms.

Winter will return after the game, potentially with several inches of snow for the Monday morning commute into the afternoon.

Like the past few systems, this storm will bring the heavier totals from the city south and east, potentially more than three inches.

The north and west suburbs will likely see a dusting to a couple inches, farther away from the storm.

A brief break on Tuesday will be followed by another storm Tuesday night into Wednesday.

This one will bring a snow, wintry mix changing to rain in the city and along the coast.

Yet another two storms are taking aim at us for next weekend.

So while the bitter cold has left, a stormier pattern is evolving.
