FAR ROCKAWAY, Queens (PIX11) — A Queens elementary school is being dubbed the city’s worst, with students lacking proper textbooks for the Common Core Curriculum.

PS 106 in Far Rockaway has a myriad of problems, with no gym or art classes for the 234 students, a whistleblower told the New York Post.  Instead, the students watch movies.

The Post reports that the school’s principal, Marcella Sills, rarely shows up to the troubled school before 11 a.m.

Part of the school was badly damaged during Superstorm Sandy and has yet to be repaired.

Teachers don’t have proper guides, the report says, and many resort to printing worksheets they found online and buying their own paper.

The Department of Education said it’s “working with the school to provide students with physical education.”
