PIX WEATHER CENTER — Record low temperatures were set earlier today in parts of the region.
There’s a chance we could set record temperatures in most of our area by Tuesday morning.
In between it will briefly warm up.
As a storm goes by to our west, the mercury will rise through the 40’s on Sunday and may even hit 50 on Monday.
However the warmth will be accompanied by some rain.
In fact, the falling rain and melting snow could result in flood problems Sunday night.
Once the cold front from this system passes, the mercury will fall like a rock! There may be a snow squall and any moisture on the ground will flash freeze.
Temperatures Monday night into Tuesday morning will range from 5 above to 10 below. Factor in the wind, and wind-chills will be dangerously low from 15 to 25 below. Frostbite could set in within 15 minutes.
The temperatures will begin to moderate for the second half of the week.
