Flights in and out of Kennedy Airport were suspended for hours during the snowstorm due to poor visibility and blowing snow. Hundreds of flights were canceled at all three area airports, with about 200 at JFK alone.
This morning, travelers have taken to social media to document the large crowds and chaos that have emerged now that flight operations have resumed. The JetBlue terminal seems to be hardest hit.
Port Authority spokesman Ron Marsico tells WPIX that the agency provided about 100 cots for people who were stranded overnight. “We have customer service agents on the scene,” Marsico said.
